What Remains. - New Work by Flint Weisser
------------------
My latest work has been utilizing the elements of play; storytelling, toys, puppets, and animation to speak about our environment in decline. I use the exaggerated aesthetics of rubber-hose animation, horror and pop-culture to highlight the damage being done to the environment through deregulation, apathy, and greed. We face rampant pollution and corruption, extreme climate change, war over petrochemicals, and a worsening quality of life for all. Our forests burn, our water is undrinkable, our air is unbreathable.
What Remains examines the life that adjust to that ruin; the mutations, the oddities and the weirdos that prevail despite the odds. A tiny bit of humor and hope amongst the dread and chaos of contemporary life.
