Funds raised will help kickstart the making of “Chuseok: Seoul Searching” (directed and produced by Stephanie Cullen of OMG Studios in Garden City), a documentary film chronicling Rachel Abrahamson’s long, complicated journey of returning to her homeland.

Adopted by an American family in 1974, Rachel arrived in the United States from South Korea without knowing her culture, background, name, or birthdate. On the 50th anniversary of her adoption, she will return to her homeland for the first time during Chuseok, a Korean Thanksgiving.

This event intends to heighten awareness of the over 200,000 South Korean babies and children adopted in the U.S. from the 1960s to the present and the deep roots adoptees can feeleven 50 years after leaving their homeland.
